為提升海上事故搜救效能並加強船舶避碰能力，交通部航港局於今年5月2日發布「交通部航港局補助全長未滿12公尺自用遊艇與動力帆船及總噸位未滿20之小船裝設船舶自動識別系統船載台作業要點」，補助期限至115年6月底止，未來將強制要求所有遊艇及小船必須裝設AIS並列入法定檢查項目，該局提醒相關船隻儘快安裝。

航港局說明，本次補助計畫將全額補助符合條件的小船、自用遊艇及動力帆船裝設船舶自動識別系統船載臺(簡稱AIS)，預計補助對象約4,609艘船舶，，AIS可自動發送船舶位置、航向、船速等動態資訊，並同步交換船名、水上行動業務識別碼(簡稱MMSI)等資料，有效強化船舶間識別與通聯能力，是提升航行安全與搜救效率的重要工具。
On 8th May, the Maritime and Port Bureau announced new regulation, providing full subsidies for the installation of AIS for small non-passenger and non-fishing boats with a gross tonnage of less than 20, motor sailboats, and private yachts with a total length of less than 12 meters.
The subsidy applied period will last until the end of June next year; each ship is limited to one device.
Small boats and yachts that are not equipped with the device may be fined between NTD3,000 and NYD30,000 according to the law.
